December 2003
Finally got round to sorting out the ceiling of the workshop. Closed off the gaps at the eaves by making a plywood ceiling. Placed some of B&Q's cheapest insulation between the roof and the ply to help keep the frost off. I also fixed some 9mm ply to the walls in order to fasten the tool storage rack.
Started overhaul of the carbs. Stripped the front carb and found that the accelerator pump was seized. With some gentle persuasion I got it moving again but on closer inspection found that the spring had partially failed through corrosion.
Examined the rear unit and found it to be in better condition. I will replace the spring as a matter of caution however. |
